The final sittings of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Complaints of Abductions and Disappearances is being carried out to accept the complaints of the relatives of the missing or disappeared persons in the District of Kilinochchi. The third day sitting was started at 8.30 this morning (Wednesday) at the District Secretariat of Kilinochchi. 250 people from Kandawalai Division have been called for the Wednesday sittings. The Commission will precede its sittings in Poonakary Division on Thursday, Said H.W.Gunadasa, the Secretary of the Commission. The Commission stated that new complaints would also be accepted during the sittings. Mr. Gunadasa said around 500 relatives of the missing persons had lodged their complaints from Karachchi Division during the last two days sittings. The Commission had already finished its sittings in the districts of Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu and Vavuniya. Maxwell Paranagama, the Chairman of the Commission, recently stated that the commission would be able to finalize the accurate number of missing persons in the North after having finished sittings in Kilinochchi.Presidential Commission’s sitting continues in Kilinochchi
