Last week, Chinese ambassador in Colombo, Mr. Yi Xianliang, went beyond Washington and New Delhi in upholding the paradigm of genocidal Sri Lanka, as he was open in detracting reconciliation and in derailing any UN intervention, which the USA and India are doing covertly. The ambassador said that it would be ill advised to put reconciliation before development and advised Lankan leaders to see that reconciliation mechanisms suggested by the UNHRC do not themselves create new conflicts. Rather than correcting the reconciliation and UNHRC deceptions coming from the USA, but negating even fundamental norms aspired by Tamils and interfering into their very existence as a nation, ironically the ambassador said China is against outside interference in domestic affairs.
The prime danger that would result from the Chinese ambassador’s talk is that it would only encourage and justify the section of gullible Tamils looking upon deceptive USA for solutions, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
Handicapped in language and social communication with the outside, and bereft of even semblances of its old ideology, the People’s Republic of China doesn't care for peoples, but chooses money talk with rotten genocidal States for its intrusions.
One immediate scenario in Colombo, encouraged by Chinese ambassador’s line of thinking was ‘State’ Sinhala prison guards and their Sinhala trainees brutally attacking Tamil trainees in genocidal style.
If all round equitable development could prevent social, political and economic conflicts as this Chinese ambassador is claiming, then why there are Uighur, Tibetan and many other such conflicts in China? Has China not achieved ‘equitable development’ yet, which it tries to preach outside?
The Chinese ambassador was talking about China-India-Pakistan-Lanka economic alliance and he claimed that the Indian envoy in Colombo was responsive to the idea.
P.K. Balachandran’s reporting of the Chinese diplomat’s talk that appeared in The New Indian Express on 6 June was also highlighting partnership in joint ventures of State and company interests, pushing behind the conflict of genocidal dimensions affecting a nation in the island to the last.
The hard truth is that Stateless Tamils need not be cared and need not be even mentioned, just as what the US resolution did at the UNHRC.
China’s assertiveness in foul interference into the domestic conflict in the island, riding on the Sinhala nation and strengthening the course of genocide, comes from its intrusions achieved in neighbouring Maldives and from its assessment about the inability of Stateless Tamils caught in the webs of Washington and New Delhi casting any geopolitical weight in the region.
If Tamils and other peoples in southern South Asia could be awakened to demonstrate their rightful geopolitical strength; tell that justice to nations and peoples is above ‘development’ for world monopoly, and first target the edification of Washington and New Delhi, then the Chinese ambassadors coming to Colombo would learn to sing a different song or would go without any song at all as they have gone out of ideology.
