Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran who met President Maithripala Sirisena on Sunday (April 2) requested him to find solution to the ongoing struggles with regard to the enforced disappeared persons, displaced people and the unemployed graduates in the northern and eastern provinces. Wigneswaran stressed to act on removing the military presence from the North, that forcefully occupies the lands of civilians and let them live peacefully and happily. Immediate establishment of the office of the missing persons and issuance of the certificate of missing is necessary, said Mr. Wigneswaran. The Chief Minister also suggested that the unemployed graduates can be attached to the Police Department to fill the existing vacancies if they are willing.
