The students of Jaffna University started to boycott the classes, as the President failed to fulfill his promises given regarding the release of the Tamil political prisoners who remanded under PTA.
The sources said, that the Protest has been Started today onwards, and as the result of the protest, the whole University activities has been stopped,
The representatives of Jaffna University students met President Maithiripala Sirisena recently regarding the release of the Tamil Political prisoners and the demand of the three Prisoners who are conducting hunger strike into the Anuradapura prison. Though the President promised them to take action for their request, he did not take any further action.
