Protest staged in front of the Aluthkade magistrate at 10.00 am on demanding to release Jeyakumary arrested under the prevention of terrorist act.
Mannar women organization together with various human rights organizations organized this protest.
Case against Jeyakumari taken up before the Aluthkade magistrate Sriram today and Jayakumary was not produced for the hearing.
Police informed court that prison department was unable to get clear information from court and was unable to produce Jeyakumary before the court.
Case postponed till 10th of April and ordered police to appear Jeyakumary before the court.
Human Rights activist Nalini Ratnaraja stated Vhibhushika, daughter of Jeyakumari currently residing at the Mahadeva center at Killinochchie and her basic rights were violated.
Activist further expressed disappointment that non of individual interested to grant bail to Jeyakumary.
