The rulers of the occupying Sinhala State are now clashing with each other while getting locked to debt-trap and maritime naval-traps of the powers, just as their forefathers did in the 16th century by inviting foreign colonial invaders into their feudal fights and finally losing their sovereign kingdoms to three successive European colonial powers, the political observers further said.
The contemporary Sinhala rulers, regardless of their political alliances, have been dealing with all the three maritime naval powers, the USA, India and China, in the Indian Ocean.
The successive rulers in Colombo have been consolidating and continuously building upon what their predecessors had achieved.
Embroiled in a Sinhala-centric paradigm, they are locked into the thinking that by keeping the geopolitical actors in a delicate balance, they could sustain the political space needed to complete the annihilation of Eezham Tamils as a nation in the island.
If that is their great strength, Tamils should conceive their strategy interpreting it as the biggest weakness of the SL rulers, political observers in Jaffna said.
Tamils, as a people sharing their civilisational right with other stateless people in the Indian Ocean, should start defining rules for maritime engagement for state actors in the region as well as for the foreign powers.
