Maithree-will-not-make-the-same-mistake-by-Mahinda-720x480Sri Lankan Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Mahinda Samarasinghe said the government would punish if any military personnel had committed crime personally against Tamil people during the final phase of the war.

Addressing a news conference organized at the Government Information Department on Tuesday (Mar 8), the Minister said it was the responsibility of the government to carry out investigations if there had any crime been committed against civilians.
He continued that they are sure that the Military had not committed any crime against the people, the Forces did not target the civilians and because of that they had lost 10,000 soldiers.
If any law had been breached, legal actions would be taken, that would be the best way for reconciliation, he added.
