Minister Mano made this observation, addressing as a Chief Guest in the national seminar in Batticaloa on Approaches to peaceful co-existence.
He added that, power devolution should be carried out to solve the problems of Tamils and the rights of Tamils should be protected. The major parties of Sri Lanka should clearly inform Tamils on devolution of power without confusion. Then only they can win the hearts of Tamils.
The power devolution is not just a solution for the ethnic problem. It is a democratic act. The power sharing should be carried out to all the provinces.
Our country is not belonging to a single religion or race. This is a Pluralistic country. So, power devolution should be given equally to all provinces, he said.
