TNA and Opposition leader R.Sampanthan said that the powers should be shared equally to all people.He made this observation at 19th national convention of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) yesterday (Saturday).
He added, our party has been fighting for the rights and devolution of Tamil people since its inception. Neither Sinhalese nor Muslims demand the devolution.
Mostly, Tamils live in the North and East of the country. The rights of this people should be protected. So, we request to carry out equivalent devolution in the united country.
The issue of devolution is related to the 13th constitutional amendment. However, the past governments didn’t try to implement it, he said
