State Minister of Education V.S. Radhakrishnan said regions especially of the Tamil community are intentionally targeted to be deteriorated of their culture and traditional practice of morality. Addressing the “Tamil Day” celebration at the Jaffna Hindu College as the Chief Guest he called for the Tamil community to be vigilant to face and beat the illegal means of distribution of drugs especially among the youth and school goers. Jaffna region is the most targeted area of distribution of such illegal drugs in order that the youth can easily been de motivated of their cultural lifestyle, he added. He also praised the actions taken by Jaffna High Court Judge Ilancheliyan against drug distribution and violence culture. He noted that the President had recently stated that Jaffna, Nuwara Eliya and Batticaloa districts hold the first rank in sale of liquor.
