Speakers says Supreme Courts clears many parts of 19th amendment

The Supreme Court has cleared most parts of the 19th Amendment to the constitution which has been submitted to Parliament for a vote.

Supreme Court as ordered to pass some of the parts in the 19th amendment with two third majority of votes. Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa told Parliament today that the Supreme Court, in its determination on the 19th Amendment, has said that while some sections require a referendum, most of it is consistent with the constitution.
